 Has Christmas become more of a shopping holiday as opposed to a religious one?

I remember a time growing up when my mother and grandmother used to be excited about this time of year. They would say this was the time their savoir was born. We would go to the church and all month long there would be festive holiday celebrations going on at the church. I recall having to go to church to practice their big holiday traditional Christmas speeches that we had to recite right before Christmas in front of the church for the annual Christmas show which included a speech recital and a Christmas play. Man, I miss those times. ...

 Does the USA really care about the Veterans?

Today we are celebrating Veterans day and all the festivities that come with it, the parades, banners, concerts, even the President of the United States is going to stand in front of the nation decked out in his finest suit and banter and politic about how this great country is appreciative of the sacrifice and work the men and women of the armed services do when they risk their lives for this great nation. Really? Appreciative of the men and women in the armed forces? Or is it all just political smoke screening and grandstanding… I ask you all ...

 Are the middle class becoming the new poor?

I know this seems like an odd question but let's think about it; is the middle class working American being rooted out of society to be the next poor? Look at how things are shaping up, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer at a staggering rate. Once upon a time, the United States had the largest and most prosperous middle class in the history of the world, but not that is changing at a blinding pace. Loss of jobs, no insurance, and who has to pay the brunt of this debacle; the middle class. Whenever taxes go up or have to be paid, it falls on the shoulders of the middle class. Poor people are allowed assistance from the government in the form of perks, welfare, food stamps, section 8 housing, but the middle class aren't afforded these breaks, and ironically the only thing the ...

 How can we expect the government to help us if they are too busy helping themselves?

As I write this article I am perplexed by the subject 'Government vs. The People'. Is the government, for all their faults, truly to blame for the mess society is in? Or, should the people they govern take more of the responsibility and blame for the mess? Let's take a look and break this all down. The government is supposedly an organization created by the people for the people. If that was the case then is the government simply doing what their bosses, the people, want them to do? If so, the people aren't doing a good job because it seems the government we elected has totally made a debacle of the job they were entrusted to do. It seems every four years we elect officials and presidents to go to Washington and do a better job for the people then the previous president, administration, and elected body did, but ...

 Are we to blame for our own economical downfall, bad credit, unemployment and financial ruin or is this a highly thought out elitist system of design?

Think about it for a minute, millions of Americans out of work, poverty and foreclosures at an all time high, and yet big billion dollar corporations, the ones that got us in this mess, received more money in the bailout and then what…they defaulted. And what did they do with that money? Did they give it back to the American people in the form of loans to get them back on their feet? No! They bought luxurious toys and vacations and they even had the nerve to say they earned these perks through bonuses. Yet, the real victims, the taxpaying American public received nothing; not even loans.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I don’t think what they did was the real problem. They only did what they were allowed to do and that is why I ask this question; Are the American people to blame for ...
